Let's Go, Dodgers!
It's time for Dodger baseball!
Our April visit to Los Angeles allowed two trips to Dodger Stadium for Rilz, the first with mom and dad and then a return visit the next night with cousin Rene, Andy and Grandpa Dodger.
Corn dogs featured prominently in both trips, as did peanuts, cracker jack and plastic Dodger caps full of ice cream (he's been sleeping with his souvenir cap ever since we returned home).
I was shocked that Riley lasted all nine innings during the first game and didn't even start to get squirrelly until the bottom on the 7th. My heart soared during the seventh inning stretch when all three of us were singing Take Me out to The Ballgame. With Riley nestled and swaying between us, Andy and I were overcome by the rush of tradition and togetherness. It was also terrific fun to share "the wave" and other rituals with Riley. He carefully observed everything he saw and performed the claps and chants like it was his job.
These goofballs know how to have a good time.
I have so many strong, happy memories of attending Dodger games over several several decades with my dad. Here's to hoping Riley will, too.

He had less stamina (or concentration) when Cousin Rene and Grandpa joined in the next day, but just as much fun.
