44 weeks

Hey guys, Sloane here. AKA Sloaney Macaroni, Sloaney Mac or, simply, the Notorious SMG...but I digress.

See this guy in the photos? He's my Grandpa. And he's a crooner. All day long he serenades me. It is the best! My mom sings me the goofiest songs (who is coming around the mountain, and why should I care??). But my Grandpa knows exactly what I want to hear. His 60s love songs are to die for, or to nap for in my case. Don't tell, but sometimes when he sings me to bed, I pretend I'm not sleepy just so he'll sing extra songs. Hee hee! I've got him just where I want him!

He and Grandma came to visit in the end of July, and it was fantastic. They counted my piggies...

---and when I wanted a snack, Grandpa let me eat his hat! Sweet!

My brother tried to angle in on the grandparent action, but -- whatever! -- I'm learning how to share so it's all good.

Besides, I have a trump card with these people. If ever their attention strays too much toward Riley, I can always hook them back by reminding them how much I look like my mom when she was their baby.

It's a good thing I like these two because my mom sure pawned me off on them a lot during their visit. But it's all good. Who wouldn't like the free hat snacks and sweet tunes. Grandma and Grandpa, I get a kick out of you!

You know what else I get a kick out of? How easily my mom catastrophizes. In my 44th week (ending July 25), I baffled her with my new head shakes and bobs (see video).

Silly lady! She thought there might be something wrong with me; perhaps I was signalling a neurological problem with a chronic tic in my noggin. Nope! I was just practicing what soon would become my adamant "Noooo!" sign. Mommy gets it now, and she should since I have to do it so often to fend her off. Enough with the broccoli and sleep sacks already! If I have any interest in sleeping, I'll let you know. Until then, perhaps this instructive video will clarify how I feel about bedtime!

  2. I agree! Such a beautiful Hazelton moment. Sloane and Felicia look like a matched set in the 7th picture.
