42 weeks

Sloane became a confident crawler in week 42, which we marked on July 11. Warning -- it gets a lot harder to capture decent weekly photos from here on out!

With her new mobility, Sloane really began discovering toys during week 42 (flash forward a month and she can now easily entertain herself for 20 minutes at a time if we plop a box of toys in front of her).

I love the left photo above because Sloane is making her motorboat noise, which we hear often (along with other adorable sound effects). She continued to eat very independently and for the first time ate the same meal as Riley (which felt revolutionary for me!). It was whole wheat pasta with carrots, by the way.

The week ended with a trip to the doctor for dual check-ups. Rilz got a sugar-free lollipop for taking his shots like a champ. Sloane also got shots, but sorry, kid -- no lollipops for you!

At this visit she was 9.5 months old. Here are the stats:

28 inches tall, 60th percentile
19 pounds, 11 ounces, 70th percentile
46.5 cm head, 95th percentile

Riley was 75th percentile for height and weight at 39.5 pounds and 41.5 inches. Almost tall enough for a whole new set of theme park rides. So much to look forward to!
