Yoga
Yoga has been an important part of my life in the last year. It helped me connect with my body during pregnancy so that I started to feel physically better after the first trimester and mentally more prepared for the coming adventure. Plus, our neighborhood yoga studio is where I met many of the moms who formed the base of our new moms group.
Now that most of us in the group have had our babies, we asked the owner of the studio to create a mom and baby class. The class is not exactly relaxing like in the same way that a quiet, focused yoga practice might be. At any given time at least one baby (often mine!) is crying, fussing or eating. We have to work extra hard to achieve a sense of om, but since we need it more than ever, it is totally worth it. Plus the stretching feels awesome to these old post-partum bones.
