48 weeks

Sloane turned 11 months old this week. Pictures are becoming much harder to capture -- the girl is on the move! But here a a few snaps from the week that ended August 22.

Sloaney Macaroni spent more time with Daddy this week, including one whole day while Riley and I were off adventuring in Pescadero. She also started to show a clear interest in stuffed animals (or "lovies" as Riley and his friends call them). Riley never gave one lick for lovies but Sloane started grabbing for them in week 48 and hasn't stopped since. If she's upset, hugging a furry friend can immediately transform her mood. It's lovely to watch.

Increasingly, the little girl we've always called Honey Badger has started to let her emotions shine through when she disapproves of something. Mommy walks out of the room -- waah! You can't figure out what she wants to eat -- waaaaaah! Toys fall on top of her -- boo hoo hoo!!!! Even when it's her own fault! I think I captured this photo after she knocked down several of the blocks at the top of this stack. They landed on her legs and she was none too pleased.

But there were no tears when we went to dinner at Paul's house that week. While the big kids watched Frozen, the next generation ate sand played in the sand.

I can't believe the "big kids" used to be this little (or that Sloane and her comrades will be the big kids in just a couple years). Slow down already!
