Backyard dinner

Miracle of all miracles: it was warm enough in San Francisco today to host a dinner party in our backyard. Woot! Eight families we adore, a taco bar, Elmo cupcakes, a lot of margaritas and perfect weather made for an awesome night. A backyard full of 2-year-olds resulted in many laughs but, alas, only fuzzy pictures. These kiddos just wouldn't stand still long enough for a good shot! Here's the best I could manage:

Over and over again, I tried to get a good picture of these three jokers, but as soon as they'd line up against the wall, they'd break and tackle me. In this photo, Eve proudly asserted to Jack and Nate that she was the one who actually knocked me over. She is a force. :)

After the last rays of sunshine disappeared into the Pacific, we went upstairs. Neala's dad read the kids Green Eggs and Ham and they freaked out when he got to the best page (when all the trains, cars, goats, etc. fall into the ocean). They screamed so loud those of us moms still straggling outside ran up to see if they were OK. What a bunch of goofs!

Later, Neala and Evie taught Riley how to dance "Gangnam Style."
