Quarantine
Riley felt pretty crummy this weekend. Coughing like a lifelong smoker and covered in drool and snot, we thought we he might have to be quarantined.

Later, Lucia and Riley advocated on behalf of our neighborhood's children at a community meeting. Seriously, as the only children playing during the meeting about construction at our local playground, they were quite impactful, putting adorable human faces on their parents' testimony.
The next day, Riley's friend, Shai, came over. Riley was feeling a little out of sorts, but Shai entertained him.
At the doctor today, we learned he has an ear infection. Poor little boo boo. Thanks to antibiotics (Hooray for science! Hooray for medicine!), the boy should be back to normal in no time.
He was a trooper this weekend and remained in surprisingly good spirits for four playdates. First he went sliding with his friend Jack and played soccer with his friend Lucia.

He also took a ride on his favorite shoulders.
Riley especially liked that Shai taught him how to roll trucks down his slide. I have a feeling there's gonna be a lot of truck rolling in our future.
Later that night, Riley had an awesome time with his friends Nate and Jack, and especially liked Nate's ride-on toys. You wouldn't have known the boy wasn't feeling well. But today was another story. The little one slept most the day -- at least when his ears weren't being prodded and poked -- then retired for the night at 6:30. The upside for us is that he spent his evening cuddling in our arms and still managed to clap, laugh and identify his body parts. He is such a sweetie pie and has been a great sport while not feeling well.
Time to get a good night's sleep, boy. You can slide again tomorrow.
