Final spooks

Of course this was the year of Queen Elsa. and we had two Elsas at the party (plus two Little Mermaids).
Riley described his Darth Vadar costume as akin to Elsa: powerful and scary. Based on many of the other costumes we saw, the desire to be powerful must be pretty strong among the 4-year-old cohort.
These bat kids and police officer were pretty powerful too.Although I can't seem to pull off my own costume, I really appreciate that a number of parents (and grandparents!) dressed up at the party and on Halloween night.
School closed early, and we hosted a small get together at our house for Neala, Fiona, Jack and their families. [By the time we headed out, Sloane was nearly ready for bed so she stayed home with her nanny.]
Before bed, Riley counted the eight pieces of candy he wanted to keep for himself and left the rest for the Halloween fairy to redistribute to kids who didn't get any candy. In exchange, she kindly left him a new ball and bat the next morning. That led to a weekend full of fun playing baseball and working off all that candy.
It's clear that Halloween is getting better and better each year. I can't wait until next October when both kiddos can trick or treat. We are in for some good times!
