Sloane celebrated her 37 week birthday on Angel Island during the annual family picnic for Riley's school. Next year Sloane will be a student there herself so this was a sneak peak of all the fun to come.
When we arrived at the ferry terminal, Sloane was greeted by an excited chorus of cheers, "Sloane-y Macaroni! Sloane-y Macaroni is here!" It was nice to see that her future school chums (and Riley's best pals) were so excited to welcome her into the fold.
Riley led the way off the ferry and onto the Island. This photo captures one of his signature moves: he swings his arms and marches forward, confidently asserting "Follow me, guys!"
The kids had a blast on the beach, even if it was a little windy.
And the mamas and bambinos had a great time picnicing. This was the first time in three years I've been able to attend. It felt like the perfect justification for my new four-day schedule. I want to be available to enjoy these time with my kids and their parents, whom I adore. Hurray for flexible schedules. Hurray for happy memories!
