35 weeks

Hurray, Sloane! Riley, mommy and daddy have been cheering on Sloane for over a month as she has been working on new skills. When she hit 35 weeks on May 23, we were seeing a lot of pre-crawling activity like kicking off from walls and objects to try and propel herself forward.

The big thrill for me that week was that Sloane (finally!) started babbling "mama mama." Music to my ears! I don't think she attributes it to me (yet), but it's such a heartwarming sign of what's to come.

In her 35th week, she also started feeding herself big chunks of food (mostly bananas and peaches). A month later, she's still queen of the purees, but in her 35th week she started to sow the seeds of progress. In retrospect, it was the beginning of a very big month for our girl.
