More fun at the beach

No surprise, we had an awesome time playing at the beach in Florida. We dodged waves, hunted for shells, dug holes, built castles and watched all sorts of unusual sights like giant birds gulping down foot-long fish in one bite.

If you look closely at these footprints, you'll see that Riley was hopping through the sand like a bunny rabbit. Pure joy.

I tried to get a shot of me and the two kids, and it just ended up looking like one of those cheesy image searches for "juggling mom." Of course, balancing nearly 60 pounds of kiddos did feel a bit like juggling. Looks like I was about to drop Sloane in this one.

It got more comical as the wind got stronger and I tried to push my hair our of my face with no free hands.

Eventually we wizened up and sat down.

We were so lucky to get to walk right out onto the beach from our condo. Here was the view from our breakfast nook. It was perfect.

When we tried to take the below family shot, Riley gave me the most amazing hug. He held me so tight I could hardly breathe, but any discomfort I may have felt was far overshadowed by the love he poured into that hug. I want to carry that feeling with me for the rest of my life.

We will miss you, Siesta Key!
