2 weeks

Ms. Sloane was nice and mellow on her two week birthday.

She spent the afternoon at Golden Gate Park, checking out the dahlia garden with Grandma.

Grandma left the following day and, boy, do we miss her already! Just to punctuate that fact, Sloane had her worst 24 hour spell ever AND I got a cold -- just as our lifeline departed for So Cal. It could not have been clearer how helpful Grandma was during her two week stay. Thank you for everything, Mom!

One day earlier, Sloane met Zev, who we expect will be her best buddy. Our friends Elli and Geoff brought this sweet guy into the world nine days after Sloane and we've already plotted many of the fun things they'll do together. The kids are super eager for the trip to wine country they've planned. Oh wait, maybe it's Elli and I who are excited, but I'm sure they kids will love it too.

Might this be their first handhold? A great start to a lifelong friendship!

Here's to you, Bony Sloaney Macaroni.

BTW, our San Francisco boy always follows that nickname with "Likes to eat her Rice-A-Roni!"

We've also reworked the chorus to the Sweeney Todd theme song to fit Sloane, and I sing it to her all the time. I promise its not as macabre as it sounds (but I probably should find some more appropriate inspiration!).
