Overheated

We recently celebrated the rare occurrence of blazing sun in San Francisco by having over a few local one-year-olds for a backyard playdate and (for their parents) Pimm's cups.

It must have reached at least 85 degrees and, with no shade in our backyard and no experience playing in the sun, our poor little San Francisco babies sizzled like strips of bacon. They bravely beared the sun as long as they could but in less than an hour the Pimm's cup playdate got re-routed to the living room.

I love this picture because you can see the sun fatigue on all their faces. Our delicate little flowers were on the verge of melting (down).
