32 weeks
May 2 marked 32 weeks for Sloane.
I love her expression in this photo because it highlights her beautiful, mellow, thin smile. It says to me, "I'm pretty content; life is good." What it doesn't say is, "I have a massive ear infection." Because the honey badger is not one to complain. That's why we were shocked earlier in the week when we took her to the doctor for a well-baby check up. She was as happy as could be, giggling, playing and stealing the hearts of everyone in the waiting room. So imagine our surprise when her doctor said she had a very serious infection in both ears, an 8 on a scale of 1-10, with 10 being the worst he'd ever seen. But honey badger don't care! She never really exhibited signs of pain, except tugging on her ears. What a champ!
By the way, the doctor says she's 50th percentile for height and weight, AKA perfect! Of course she has a ginormous 95th percentile head. Big brains on this girl!

Late April brought a delightful heatwave. We don't get true summer in July or August, so we celebrate it when it arrives intermittently throughout the year, embracing the opportunity to flounce in summer dresses and camp out in the backyard. More on the campout soon...
We closed the week with music class. As we got ready, Sloane played a few instruments at home. As usual, she studied them carefully, then tried to eat them.
Once we got to class, she was the happiest little camper you could imagine. She especially liked the parachute game we were playing in this photo. All throughout class my friends said she was covered in giant, cheeky smiles. And this was immediately following a round of shots. That is some honey badger!
