Passover

Passover may have been two months ago, but Mr. Riley still talks frequently about his favorite part, finding the afikoman.
The night started with a table full of traditional, delicious Passover seder dishes. With a dozen items from which to choose, what won Riley's heart?  Gefilte fish. It was amazing; he chowed down as if he'd just discovered donuts. The boy would have wolfed down the entire stinky jar if we had let him. Perhaps he's been influenced by this hilarious book. Or maybe he's just really got a taste for fish meatballs.

Either way, he's still requesting gefilte. He made me laugh recently when Lucia's family served fish tacos with an option of grilled or breaded fish and Riley asked, "Is there gefilte fish?" Ha! Looks like this kid will eat anything.

After a delicious Passover dinner (thank you, Adena, Afsal, Sacha and Josh!), it was time to search for the afikoman. Riley and pals, Sophia and Max, lined up to hear Afsal's instructions on finding the hidden matzoh.

Lucky little Riley was delighted when he spotted it. I was delighted to see that his first instinct was to share it with his friends.

Yum! Next year in Jerusalem!
