The wall
As noted below, we are starting to make some progress in the baby's room. With the help of awesome friends Lisa, Jacob, and Nick, Andy painted the walls a light brown color. The next step is putting up a giant sticker that will cover one entire wall. The theme of the room is "edible garden" and considering that our backyard lemon tree is one of the most bountiful food sources in our own garden, we figure it only makes sense to include a prominent tree in the decor. In the picture below, you can see Andy working on the installation of our cherry tree wall sticker. It will eventually have hundreds of green and white blossoms on the tree and blowing in the wind. A white crib will go in front of the tree, but we don't expect it to cover much of the sticker. We still have a lot of work to do, but are hoping it will look pretty cool when its all done.
I'm still playing with other ideas for how to bring the edible garden theme indoors. Today I bought some fake fruits and vegetables (the artichoke is particularly cool looking). I am thinking about turning them into a mobile, but am not sure yet. Thanks for the creative decor suggestions below. Other ideas? Bring 'em on!
