22 weeks

Hey, I'm five months old!

I cannot believe how quickly Sloane's first year is flying by. I was stunned when she turned five months old last week. The transition to becoming a parent the first time around was so intense that Riley's first five months felt like five years. This time it feels like I just gave birth to Sloane last week. I'm trying to sloooow down and enjoy it. Maybe she senses that because for the last week she's started night waking, sometimes three times for up to 90 minutes each. That sure made the week feel longer! Actually it made me feel like this:

This attempt at a family selfie tells all. Me trying to keep it together while Riley is ruling the roost and Sloane, after being an angel, finally gets frustrated that we aren't as focused on her as we should be. #keepingitreal

But back to the angel...

We see this pursed lip expression a lot as she tries out new sounds. 

And we see a lot of this smile. Even when I'm exhausted by the night wakings, she can always make me melt at 3 a.m. by flashing this genuinely happy smile. I love this girl.
