16 weeks

Sloane is quickly evolving from a sleepy newborn, unaware of the world around her, to a vibrant participant in all the fun life has to offer a baby. Like chew toys. Nom nom nom...






























During her 16th week we noticed her grasping and knoshing on playthings, especially soft ones. She drools like crazy so we are enamored with beautiful bibs like these.



Her strength is unbelievable. She has been trying to stand since she was ONE week old (I am not kidding). For some reason, standing is her preferred position; if you try to sit her down, she'll kick out her legs and pull up using your hands. Her stand is wobbly and she bobs around a lot -- Andy noted it looks like she's waterskiing.





























He tried an experiment that we couldn't believe worked. He propped her up against the edge of her crib and she could stay standing there for up to five seconds. [Note his hand nearby; he never let her fall.] It is insane to see a 16-week-old baby standing up!

We think she might be an athlete someday. Riley and I made up a story about cheering her on some day as she dominates a soccer game. No pressure, Sloane, but that's my first guess so far as to your future interests. We shall see!
