Belly goes to the beach (again)

The last week at work was very stressful. On Friday, I worked until well after midnight, not settling into bed until after I had written a detailed work plan for the rest of the weekend. I was one giant stress-belly. After tossing and turning with stress dreams, I woke up early Saturday morning and decided to squeeze in pre-natal yoga. Boy am I glad I did. The yoga relaxed and centered me, shifting my focus away from work. Recognizing that the next two weeks at work will be extremely demanding as I plan around the clock for my biggest responsibility of the year (the announcement of Irvine's annual Leadership Awards on April 29) and that next weekend is planned nearly to the minute, I decided I needed to take the weekend off. Fortunately, the weather decided to cooperate and I was blessed with a 75 degree, sunny, clear day today. Most of the year I forget that I live 10 minutes from the beach, but the babymoon last week reminded me to appreciate my proximity to the Pacific.

OMG...I LOVE the beach. Hearing the waves, walking through the soft sand, drowning in sunshine...what's not to love? I also continue to have fun staring at the curiosity that is my big belly on the beach. Strangely, I don't remember any ogling in San Diego, but today the belly seemed to attract a lot of attention. It got smiles from women and gaping stares from men. Call me vain (it's probably true) but I couldn't help capturing the belly again on my phone. This is probably the last time my midsection will look this firm again for awhile!

Andy thinks it looks like I was giving birth in this one. Ha! I assure you I was fully clothed (as much as one would be at the beach) and not it labor.
