No more burning the candle at both ends
I am exhausted. I woke up early today, worked for a couple hours on a train and then spent the day walking around Washington DC, visiting monuments and museums, and shopping for a winter coat. Throughout the day I answered work emails as often as possible. I carried a heavy backpack so that I could spend any free moments attacking a work project. I will soon head over to the house of good friends Brian and Emilie for dinner, but before I do, I might just drop dead. I am so tired! I have never had back problems but now I'm screaming for a massage. I just don't have access to my usual store of energy that allows me to multi-task my way through one ambitious agenda after another. Ever since high school when I was a leader in 16(!) campus clubs and activities, my parents have cautioned me to slow down and stop burning the candle at both ends. I never really felt moved to heed that advice until now. OK, baby, you win. I will try and figure out how to slow down and get some rest. A massage wouldn't be bad, either!
